Discovery Page

The first thing I didn't know before this was the fact that there are more than a million industrial robots being used today. I knew there were a lot . but I did not know there were THAT many. Just think of how many jobs the robots have taken. There are robots out there doing everything. They don't just do medical stuff anymore. They do stuff at factories and other jobs. The number of robots are fastly increasing today in America, even though nearly half of them are in Japan.

 The second thing that I did not know was that they have robots that are highlt involved into the space program. A spacecraft that doesn't have any humans on board is usually referred to as a robotic spacecraft. These are usually controlled by telerobotic control. A robotic spacecraft that designed to make scientific research measurements is often called a space probe. I think that it's great that robots are getting involved into space exploration . It's going to help broden our knowledge of the outerspace. This is very informative to me.

The last thing that I did not know before this project was how many jobs that a robot actually does. It's actually crazy to be honest. I mean they have a robot that milks a cow. There's a robot that fills your medications. These robots are taking over every single thing in our lives.

Introduction

As more and more technological savvy that our world is getting these days robots are taking over. Robots have many jobs and are slowly but surely replacing people’s jobs.  Robots are getting to be as smart, if not smarter, than us humans.  We have built them so smart.   Robots these days can pretty much do everything and anything.   Some of the many jobs robots are taking over are pharmacists, lawyers and paralegals, drivers, astronauts, sales clerks, soldiers, babysitters, rescuers, sports writers and several other reporters.  It is pretty hard to believe that soon a robot will be filling our prescriptions.  Yes, they will be able to pick, package, and dispense the accurate dosage of medication.  The next time you need a lawyer instead of having to pay for lots of lawyers they have robot software that can do that for you.  They are even making cars that will be able to drive for you! NASA’s Robonaut2 is packed up with several sensors and fiver fingered hands.  This will soon be able to clean the space stations and help out the other astronauts.  There are many other things these nifty things can do, but those are a few.  There are several advantages to this, but also some downsides.  The downsides are that they are taking away the jobs of thousands of hardworking individuals, and also making us lazier.  The plus side to the robots is that they can really help us out and make our everyday lives easier.

One of the many things robots are venturing into is the wonderful medical field.  Robots play a very important and critical role in modern medicine.  They help train our doctors, dentists, and nurses, to helping nurture the patients.  The reason they might have a robot in a hospital is to help out with patients.  If there are 14 patients who need care and only 6 nurses the robot can help feed the person and when the person is suddenly unconscious the robot has analyzed this and will call for help.  Another great function of the robot in the medical field is to deliver medicine into patients bodies.  There is something called Nano Technology that helps make medicine cheaper and better.  This helps deliver medicine, especially medicine for cancer.  The medicine for cancer is placed into the Nano Robot, and is then pricked into the finger of the patient.  Then with a remote control, the Nano Robot is controlled to help find the cancer cell.  After it has found the cancer cell, the robot will then release a bomb, then the cancer will die.  There are many uses for robots in the medical field and are extremely helpful to us.  Anything that helps cure people is amazing.

This awesome piece of surgical equipment is the Cyberknife. This is an non invasive option to surgery for treatment of cancerous and non-cancerous tumors. This can be done in any part of the body including your: prostate, lung, brain, spine, pancreas, and kidney. In this treatment it delivers high beams of radiation to the tumors. Though the name has 'knife' in it, there is absolutely no cutting involved in the procedure. It's the world's first and only robotic radiosurgery. It's a painless alternative to the patients that would prefer not to have surgery.

Now, this picture you see above it the ROBODOC system. The ROBODOC system has assisted in more than 28,000 joint replacement procerdures across the world. It has many exclusive innovations it puts the most advanced tools that you need into your doctor's hands. The ORTHODOC allows your surgeon pre-plan the surgery down to the last detail and the ROBODOC arm lets the doctor carry the plan out. If you need the total hip replacement this is the robot to find.

The picture that I have above is the Paro robot. The Paro robot is a therapeautic baby seal. This seal is supossed to have a very calming affect to patients. It's almost like a therapy dog, except in robot form. This robot has sensors and is able to respond to you. When you pet it it moves its tail and open and closes its eyes. It also produces sounds that a real seal would. This is especially a good robot for the elderly and younger children.
This is the Zeus Robotic surgical system is the robot in the picture above. This was designed for assisting in surgery. The Zeus has three arms. The first arm is named to AESOP. AESOP is voice activated and allows the doctor to see inside of you. The other to arms act like two other arms of the doctors'. Zeus was unfortunately discontinued in 2003 and expanded to something bigger.

Taylor Swift Forum (:

The forum that I picked to write about was my absolute favorite singer\person LIKE EVER. Taylor Swift! This forum is on Taylor Swift’s official website. The community of fans and Swifties form “Taylor Connect”.  This really lets you feel in tack with what’s going on to your fellow friends. On this forum you first simply make an account. On your Taylor Connect it’s basically a blog about Taylor swift. You can read other people’s posts. You can add friends on there and you can even instant message back and forth to each other about anything you want. You get points for almost everything that you do on it. On the forum they talk about everything Taylor Swift. As of this month the main posts you see are about her new album “Red”. People are leaving their opinions on it and just having fun discussing about her. A lot of people have “Top 5 Songs Off Red”. It’s fun to come together and try to figure out things such as her boyfriend at the time. She likes to keep her life private, so the fans come together and try to put all of her hints together. It’s like putting together a puzzle! Only better! Something really awesome about this forum is that there are even international fans! Like HOW COOL! You really notice how many fans she has.  I saw a really cool one and it was called “Swiftie look a likes”. They had similar fans that looked like Taylor! Another good thing about this it’s a very safe forum. You very rarely see inappropriate things like you see a lot on other forums. So basically I really recommend this forum! It’s a go to forum. If you really like Taylor Swift like me go to this forum….NOW!
If you want to go to this here's a link: http://taylorswift.com/register , You're welcome (;
